Bohemians play to 3-3 tie against NJ Express

The Baltimore Bohemians played to a 3-3 tie against Mid-Atlantic Divison leaders NJ Express Saturday evening. A strong offensive showing in the first half had the Bohs leading, until allowing two goals in the closing minutes.

 

The Bohemains got off to a good offesnive start, with forwards Kingsley Onwuka, Conner Thompson, and winger Austin Martz getting good balls in to the New Jersey box and creating scoring chances, keeping Express under pressure.

 

The Bohs diligence started to pay off when Malcom Harris had a shot go off the post in the 17th minute, and Thompson had a shot go wide in the 19th minute.

 

The Bohemains keep New Jersey under consistent pressure and Express gave way in the 37th minute, when multiple shots in the box landed at the feet of Kinsley Onwuka who put Baltimore up 1-0. It was Onwuka's fifth goal in three games.

 

The defense was lead by Philp Greatwich and newcomer Joshua Yaro, with both getting in the faces of attackers and clearing the ball out of Baltimore's zone.

 

The Boh's added to their lead shortly before half time, when defender Ryan Tuck forced a turnover that lead to forward Melvin Snoh getting one past the New Jersey keeper growing their lead to 2-0.

 

Baltimore kept the pressure up and went for a third goal. Thompson and Martz got two rapid shots on the Express goal which keeper Mathew Turner kept away.

 

After halftime Express wasted no time fighting back, with forward William Torreson-Paulino rushing the Baltimore defense and making the score, 2-1.

Defender Oumar Ballo - Houston Dynamo

Played with the Bohemians in 2012 and 2013 as well as UMBC.

 

Forward Kay Banjo - Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Played with the Bohemians in 2014 and played along side Ballo at UMBC, and the now defunct Towson soccer program.

 

Midfielder Matt Shinsky - Chicago Fire. Played for the Bohemians in 2013 as well as the University of Maryland soccer program.

Bohemains announce 2015 schedule,

 make new home in Canton

The Baltimore Bohemians announced their 2015 schedule today. The team will begin its 2015 season on the road against the Westchester Flames on May 16th.

 

The Boh's will play their home matches this season at Senator Bonvegna Field, located in Canton Maryland. The stadium is currently undergoing 1.5 million dollar renovations courtsey of Coppermine. Whom are in the process of renovating the turf and adding lights. The stadium is named after former Maryland Senator Joseph Bonvegna.

 

The Bohemians will have their home opener on May 23rd against Reading United.

 

Two new teams will join the Mid-Atlantic Divison, Lehigh Valley and New York. With NJ-LUSO Parma ceasing operations.
